iPhone 13 Pro Max charges faster than iPhone 12 Pro Max. Up to 27 W maximum against “only” 22 W for its predecessor.
Each new generation of iPhone has its share of new features and improvements. Most are put forward by the Cupertino company during the official presentation of the devices but some are passed over, voluntarily or not. It seems that this is the case with battery charging, as the iPhone 13 Pro Max can thus be recharged faster than the iPhone 12 Pro Max.

When Apple stopped integrating a charger into the box of its iPhone – since the iPhone 12, the Apple brand explained that if customers wanted a fast charging speed, it was necessary to pay the additional amount requested for the charger. 20 W. This would allow iPhone 12 owners to achieve faster-charging speeds than those obtained with older chargers from previous iPhones.
That being said, it turns out that the iPhone 13 Pro Max can recharge even faster than its predecessor, something the Cupertino company did not mention during the presentation. In a video posted on ChargerLab, we see the iPhone 13 Pro Max tested with different chargers offering varying power outputs.
Up to 27 W maximum against “only” 22 W for its predecessor
If we are to believe the numbers visible in this video, the iPhone 13 Pro Max, when plugged into a charger of at least 30W, can handle a maximum charging power of 27W. That being said, the video shows also that this power is not constant at 27 W but it remains higher than that of the iPhone 12 Pro Max which does not seem to be able to exceed 22 W when plugged into a 30 W charger.
The video also shows the phone plugged into more powerful chargers, up to 100W, but it looks like it makes no difference compared to a 30W charger. That is, if charging speed is important to you, invest. in a good 30W (or higher) charger might be a good idea.
