“Ohana, If you want to move, We’ll help you exit TX. Your Choice.”

Texas abortion law

Everyone got shocked, and people got divided between the highly conditional Texas abortion law, released on Friday. However, the biggest tech company Salesforce made a huge movie in their industry regarding the Texas abortion law.

The huge movie is how they have offered to help and relocate their employees and families concerned about the access they have when it comes to abortion or reproductive healthcare in their state.

On Slack, Salesforce sent a message to their employees saying:

“These are incredibly personal issues that directly impact many of us — especially women…[I]f you have concerns about access to reproductive healthcare in your state, Salesforce will help relocate you and members of your immediate family.”

CNBC was the one to get this message, and it shows they have not directed it to Texas only. Nevertheless, Marc Benioff, the CEO of Salesforce, when on to Twitter, Tweeted:

“Ohana, if you want to move, we’ll help you exit TX. Your choice.”

Benioff linked the message to Texas by tweeting this tweet.

CNBC reported how Salesforce stressed that it respected various views but stands with the right of women and their choices in their Slack message.

In its message, Salesforce said:

“These are incredibly personal issues that directly impact many of us — especially women… The company did not take a stance on the law. “We recognize and respect that we all have deeply held and different perspectives. As a company, we stand with all of our women at Salesforce and everywhere.”

According to the Salesforce website, it has offices in Dallas, Texas. Moreover, it has come to light by the analysis of LinkedIn done by CNBC shows the company has 2,000 employees in Dallas working for them.

Many tech companies have come under fire for keeping silent regarding the abortion law in Texas.

Texas’s abortion law bans any woman from having an abortion after six weeks of pregnancy when many women do not even know they are pregnant. It also lets anyone sue the one who helps women get an abortion after the six weeks set time.

Some tech companies have raised their voices and taken action, while others’ views got revealed by the politicians of Texas.

The companies who have said they will cover all legal fees of their drivers who might get sued for taking women to get abortions are Uber and Lyft.

A company establishing a relief fund to help organizations supporting the reproductive rights of women in the state with finance is Bumble.

Match Group’s (owner of Tinder and Hinge) CEO, Shar Dubet,  has said she will personally build a fund to support their employees in Texas to get an abortion somewhere else.

Many companies are playing their part like, GoDaddy booted a site that intends to help people anonymously tell on people in Texas who get abortions six weeks after or anyone who helps them.

On the other hand, according to an interview done by Gov. Greg Abbott, the owner of Tesla and SpaceX, Elon Musk, supports the social policies of the state. However, Elon Musk has not yet confirmed this yet.

On Twitter, Elon Musk tweeted:

“In general, I believe government should rarely impose its will upon the people, and, when doing so, should aspire to maximize their cumulative happiness…That said, I would prefer to stay out of politics.”

Every company should come together to support women’s rights.
